The North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) in Beverly will present its production of ‘A Christmas Carol’ next month.
Bill Hanney, producer of the show, expressed his excitement about this holiday story. He said that many people consider the theater’s production of the show to be the highlight of their holiday season and have come to see it many times. The show first opened in 1989 and has been seen by over one million people since its first show.

The show is sponsored by MarketStreet Lynnfield and is an original adaptation by Jon Kimball, former artistic director of the NSMT, and member of its staff. It is based on the classic by Charles Dickens, and features traditional and original songs, colorful costumes, and impressive special effects. In addition to the return of David Coffee for his 26th year of playing Ebenezer Scrooge, there will be many young actors from the local area.
There will be 14 performances of the show running from Friday, December 6 through Sunday, December 22. Unwrapped and unopened toys will be collected for Tiny Tim’s Toy Drive for children between the ages of 2 and 12 throughout the run of the show. Toys for Tots will be the recipient of all the toys.
