Beverly residents to have opportunity to update skills

Several types of courses will be offered in the Beverly area in the upcoming months.

It is likely that Print shops will be hired to prepare materials to both promote such courses and prepare materials for them.

North Shore Community College (NSCC) will be offering free machinist training classes for those interested in working for one of the more than 150 machining companies on the North Shore. These classes will include ESL for Machinists and HiSET for Machinists. Both classes will be online and run from November through August of next year. These will be followed by hands-on shop instruction in the classroom for 415 hours over a period of 16 to 20 weeks. Information sessions are currently being held, with more details about dates and times on the college’s website.

Members of the Greater Beverly Chamber of Commerce will be able to receive a voucher toward several open enrollment classes offered by the Corporate and Professional Education Division at NSCC. The voucher will be $10 toward any course that costs $189, $20 toward any course on Microsoft Office software, and $50 toward a BootCamp course. The vouchers are for courses coming up during the winter and spring sessions. Courses will be offered in several levels of Word and Excel and Outlook Level One. The BootCamp will cover all the Microsoft Office applications and Google Apps and File Management Proficiency.
