Beverly resident to join Gloucester school district

Daniel Jewett, a resident of Beverly, will become the new principal at the Plum Cove Elementary School in Gloucester next month. He said he was looking for an opportunity such as this one that was on the North Shore, and specifically on Cape Ann.

He expressed his excitement about joining a very strong school district. He added that during his first few months on the job, he plans to focus on getting to know his colleagues and the community of Plum Cove.

Announcements of such appointments can be made known to the school community through poster printing and other printed materials from local Print shops.

Jewett has been part of the Triton Regional School District as the assistant principal of Newbury Elementary School (NES) for the past five years. He said that NES provides a wonderful educational experience, with its many teachers who have been his mentor, addin that they are passionate about teaching and that this passion has been passed on to him.

Jewett has been a social studies teacher in the Manchester Essex Regional School District and the curriculum coordinator in the district for kindergarten through grade 12 for Triton schools. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College, and a master's degree and certificate of advanced graduate study from Salem State University.

Jewett starts his new position on Wednesday, July 1.
