A Beverly not-for-profit organization that serves as a social safety net for the community has organized a school supplies drive, and it is seeking the support of the public.
The Beverly Bootstraps Back to School Backpacks campaign is underway for another year, and to help make it easy for the public to lend a hand, it has created an online donation portal. The goal is to fill 950 Backpacks for children in need, and these will be distributed to students throughout Manchester, Hamilton, Beverly, Essex, and Wenham.
The initiative will ensure that local kids have the new supplies they need for academic success, and these packs will be handed out at the beginning of the school year. The coordinator for the drive is Deb Ploszay, who can be reached at 978-927-1561. Ploszay welcomes questions from the public as well as any ideas they may have to help make the campaign a success.
School supply donation drives come in many Forms, from online fundraisers to “stuff-a-bus” events, carnivals, and fun runs. Banner printing companies have a variety of ways to ensure an in-person activity is a success.
The Beverly Bootstraps Back-to-School-Backpacks activity will be accepting contributions until Wednesday, July 24. A donation link, as well as a list of supplies needed for the event, can be found on the organization's website.
