Many events will be taking place this month and next month at the Beverly Public Library.
There will be a demonstration of Hoopla, a new digital media service. that will be available for residents of Beverly at 10:00 am this Friday, February 15. This service provides the ability to borrow audiobooks, movies, music, eBooks, and other media that can be streamed immediately or downloaded to tablets and computers for enjoying offline.
Those who are interested in 3D printing can come to an introductory class on the topic beginning at 6:30 pm on Thursday, February 21.
Nancy Coffey, a local historian will teach people how to research their house and its former residents beginning at 7:15 pm on Wednesday, March 6. There will also be a screening of Alice’s Ordinary People hosted by filmmaker Craig Dudnick. Alice Tregay was a little-known heroine of the civil rights movement.
On Thursday, March 21 beginning at 7:00 pm, Eileen Carlotto will discuss how to reduce stress through meditation and learn some simple techniques for doing so.
In other news, Martha Morgan may need to update her Business Cards as she has been named Head of Branch Library Services and will be running the Farms Branch of the Beverly Library. She has been with the main branch of the library for over 25 years and has focused on instituting many new programs for children.
