Beverly holds race for holiday season

The YMCA of the North Shore will be hosting its annual Road Race Series this fall, with the Reindeer Run to be held in Beverly in December.

This race is a holiday tradition in the town, as Santa Claus is accompanied by his elves in holiday dress as they join runners along the coast and through downtown Beverly. Those who participate in the race will receive a hooded sweatshirt, specially designed for the race.

After the race, there will be a holiday party, with music for the season, race photographer, refreshments, and awards. Among the awards to be given out are top male and female resident from Beverly, top male and female overall, top team score, and largest team. Awards will also be given out to the top three male and female winners in several age categories.

The title sponsor for the series is the Institution for Savings. Corner Stone is the recipient of the proceeds from the race. This is a new collaborative program of the YMCA that provides support on a daily basis to cancer patients, cancer survivors, and their immediate families.

Events such as this one often turn to flyer printing for promotional purposes and to highlight their fundraising efforts.

The race will take place on Saturday, December 7, with registration from 8:30 am to 9:45 am at the YMCA on Cabot Street.
