Habitat for Humanity North Shore was recently joined by Coastal Windows & Exteriors of Beverly to provide homeowner Charlene Cruz, a survivor of lung cancer, with a new deck, windows, and roof for her home.
Materials worth more than $200,000 were provided by Coastal Windows & Exteriors. These included new Energy-Star Soft-Lite windows and a Master Elite Lifetime roof. Cruz very much appreciated the hard work and generosity of the team of Coastal Windows & Exteriors.
President of Habitat for Humanity North Shore, Don Preston, said this was a project that was one of the most ambitious that the organization has undertaken this year. The generosity of Coastal Windows & Exteriors, he said, enabled Habitat to secure funds from the City of Peabody Community Preservation Act so that the windows could be updated and the front porch fixed. Preston added that it shows how the non-profit, private, and public sectors can work together to do more than any one single organization can do alone.
On the day of the work, the crew’s lunch was provided by Coastal Windows & Exteriors and Half-Baked Café, while Painted Pastry of Beverly provided dessert.
Habitat might benefit from the assistance of a local printing company to promote its cause by means of Flyers and other printed materials to encourage other companies to help out with its projects.
