Affordable housing project to come to Beverly

Construction is currently underway on the corner of Tozer and Sohier Roads in Beverly at Anchor Point.

The project will consist of home with two and three bedrooms offered at below-market rates. There will also be 77 units for 15 families who are homeless and the remaining units will be offered through a lottery, which is now opened. There will also be care management and resident services offered at the development.

There will be two residential units on the property and The Lighthouse Center, an education center and community building that is designed to be the focal point of the Anchor Point community. Among the services provided at The Lighthouse Center will be adult education, space for after school programs, onsite daycare, and health programming.

Also planned are both indoor and outdoor recreational spaces, including a playground, community gardens, and a playing field. There will also be parking on-site.

Applications for the units are available at HCP on Elliott Street and the Beverly Public Library. Local Print shops may have assisted with the printing of such applications to make them available to those who are not able to download them from a website. The deadline to apply for the units is March 1, 2022. The project is expected to be available for occupancy in the summer of next year.
