Thanksgiving event provides alternative plans near Jefferson

Emo Night: Not Your Family’s Thanksgiving, which is being set up by The Emo Society, has opened ticket sales online ahead of the seasonal gathering in the Jefferson area, providing area residents with a love of emo culture and music a unique way to celebrate. The evening will provide an escape for interested parties to get a break from spending time with family while enjoying their favorite type of music with like-minded individuals.
The evening’s headliner will be Bemo Rouge, who will perform a three-hour DJ set of all of the classic emo sounds. Poster printing is an effective way to promote such musical events, pairing imagery that catches attention with all of the relevant details about the performers and venue.
The organizers, The Emo Society, are from the New Orleans area and aim to create a sense of community through music and emotion. They throw events around New Orleans and Jefferson to celebrate the genre of music, which bears a similarity to hardcore punk but with emotional and introspective lyrics, and has a distinctive fashion that comes with it.
Southport Hall, located on Monticello Avenue in nearby New Orleans, will host the Thanksgiving event on the evening of Thursday, November 27. Doors open at 10:00 PM. Tickets are $13.73 for general admission.
