Food protection certification course offered near Jefferson

Jefferson residents who have an eye toward moving up in the culinary industry are in luck next month, as a certification course for managers is coming to the area.

The ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Program is coming to neighboring Metairie soon, providing managers in the culinary industry an opportunity to gain new skills and knowledge as they work toward advancement. The event is built around a fast-paced lecture that is expected to last four hours. Self-study is required of all enrollees before attending the course.

The program is accredited by the American National Standards Institute and the Conference for Food Protection. Students will learn the latest in food safety, the FDA Food Code, and the knowledge gained through decades of food sanitation experience. Printing services can provide students in such courses with the documents they need to take notes and make the most of educational programs like this.

The National Restaurant Association has worked with food industry experts to develop the program, preparing attendees to handle food safely and mitigate sanitation risks. The agenda will start with a check-in, then transition into the lecture phase. After lunch, participants will take their exams.

The Holiday Inn Metairie is hosting the certification course, and it is scheduled for Wednesday, January 14th. The doors open at 8:30 AM, and registration starts at $136.96 per person online.
