A community reception is being organized near Jefferson for next month with the goal of recognizing the engineers of the United States Army.
Jefferson residents will want to save the date for the upcoming U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Welcome Reception, which has announced that it will be coming to neighboring Metairie. The event will serve as a warm way of greeting Colonel Scotty Austin to the New Orleans District, where he will be the acting commander going forward.
In addition to Col. Austin, the welcome reception will also recognize Rear Admiral Will Watson to the Heartland District. Read Admiral Watson will be taking command of all Coast Guard units and operations in the area. Both members of the armed forces will be joining the greater New Orleans community and doing their part to promote safety. Organizers can use brochure printing to hand out documents sharing information about both officers and the day’s agenda.
Attendees are asked to wear business attire or military uniforms to conform to the dress code, as it will be a more formal environment. Light refreshments will be provided, and interested parties should RSVP before April 13th.
The reception will be held at the Metairie Country Club in nearby Metairie. It’s scheduled for Wednesday, April 29th, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. General admission reservations can be booked for free online.
