A community tradition has announced the date for the next event in the series, and Jefferson residents are invited to participate and add to its lore.
The 43rd Tchoupitoulas Social Aid and Athletic Club Bar-a-Thon will be held near Jefferson next month, combining bars, friendship, and outdoor activity into one evening. The event will take participants through five miles to six different bars to try six different beers. It is an opportunity for participants to discover new venues and beverage options from local breweries, supporting the local economy along the way.
The bar-a-thon will proceed rain or shine, and participants are welcome to run, power walk, jog, or crawl from each venue to the next with the expectation of crossing the finish line by 8:15 PM, when the awards ceremony will begin. Printing services can help promote the event's sponsors with tools and Promotional Products like Banners, shirts, and koozies.
Participants will receive a poster, commemorative T-shirt, a koozie, and other awards for crossing the finish line. Organizers have also booked a local band to perform live music at the event’s afterparty. The theme will be “80s Nostalgia,” with participants expected to dress to match it.
Le Bon Temps Roule, located on Magazine Street in New Orleans, will host the bar-a-thon. The official date is Friday, May 15, beginning at 6:05 PM. Registration for the remaining spots is open online and costs $71.21 per person.
