Jefferson yoga event to feature cats on the mats
Jefferson's yoga enthusiasts, and those who have always wanted to give it a try, may find an event planned for the area just to their liking.
The Louisiana SPCA and NOLA Tribe Yoga have joined forces to offer a session of ‘Meowmaste’, and it promises to be a fun and furry time for everyone who participates.
During this yoga class, the group will welcome several cats from area shelters, who will be joining in the stretching and positions. Since they will all be adaptable, it can be an opportunity for those who are looking for a new family member.
The check-in time for the class is 8:45 am, and at 9:00 am, the instruction will begin. Preregistration is mandatory, and a portion of the fees collected will be donated to the La SPCA. Those who would like to rent a mat will be able to do so for $3, and anyone who chooses to adopt one of the cats will be able to use their class fee towards the cost of the adoption.
An event like this can draw attention to a cause, and it can also be an effective fundraiser. Flyers can be placed throughout the community to let the public know that it will be taking place, and a flyer printing company can supply them at a budget-friendly price.
A session of Meowmaste will be offered next Saturday, June 29, and everyone is welcome. The venue for the activity is located at 1700 Mardi Gras Boulevard.
