Baton Rouge to become Baton Bleu once more?

The Baton Rouge Blues Festival will be back in the city this spring. Presented by the Baton Rouge Blues Foundation, the festival was founded in 2002 and continues to attract thousands of visitors each year.

Throughout the past five years, the event has grown to an attendance of over 40,000 guests ranging in age from 18 to 65.

Celebrating the blues culture and maintaining the Swamp Blues heritage is of primary importance for the organizers. Bringing the best of the Louisiana music community combined, with an agenda of activities throughout the festival, keeps the history alive.

Performers include Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Sonny Landreth, Kenny Neil, Eric Gales, Amythyst Kiah, and dozens more.

Applications are now sold out for food, art, and general vendor booths, and the vendor participation deadline for fees is this Friday, March 13. All vendor proceeds benefit the non-profit Baton Rouge Blues Foundation.

Exhibitors have the ability to work with local printing services for materials needed, such as Business Cards. Business card printing in advance will ensure an ample stock to distribute.

Volunteers are needed to assist with security, sales, set-up, teardown, and general logistics. Each volunteer will receive a T-shirt, an invitation to the Basic Music Hall volunteer party, snacks and beverages, and the satisfaction of helping the community.

The Baton Rouge Blues Festival will take place April 18 and 19 in the downtown area.
