A cultural holiday is on the horizon in Baton Rouge, and with it comes an opportunity for interested parties to learn how to bake the beloved King Cake.
The King Cake Baking Class has announced that it has opened enrollment to interested parties for a session that will teach students to bake King Cakes from home while exploring the tradition and Cajun culture. The class is being organized by Red Stick Spice Company, and the learning session will be led by Sammy, Anne, and Lili, who will focus on providing a fun baking experience for all.
Students will learn the basics of creating the soft and fluffy dough used to make King Cakes. The instructors will demonstrate how to roll out the dough and create the filling used to provide the iconic flavor. Brochure printing can provide the space needed for both recipes and instructions for students enrolled in such classes.
While the cakes proof, the instructors will explain how to use the same dough to make cinnamon rolls and other treats. Students will enjoy lunch from Uncle Pat’s Chicken & Sausage Gumbo. When the cakes have cooled, students will ice and decorate them.
The baking workshop will be hosted by Red Stick Spice Company in Baton Rouge. It is set for Saturday, January 24th, at noon. Registration is available online for $105 per participant.
