Baton Rouge prepares for the blues

The 2021 Blues Festival in Downtown Baton Rouge is returning in September. The event is hosted by the Baton Rouge Blues Festival and Foundation.

The event was postponed previously due to the pandemic, so residents and visitors are looking forward to the return of the landmark event in the fall.

Blues artists, as well as renowned performers, will be in the line-up for the festival. One of the performers includes Robert Finley headlining the festival. Finley is a native of Louisiana and recently released “Sharecropper’s Son,” which was produced by Dan Auerbach.

Kenny Neal will also be appearing. Neal grew up in Baton Rouge and learned the musical basics from his parents. Focusing on swamp-blues, the native Louisiana musician was inducted to the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame 10 years ago. Other scheduled musicians include Nikki Hill and Jonathan Long.

Vendors will be on site to offer beverages, local cuisine, and arts and crafts and merchandise. Vendors are typically encouraged by event organizers to work with local printing services to obtain materials needed for festivals. Banner printing is a viable method to create signage for a booth, and can include logos, content, and graphics.

The 2021 Blues Festival in Downtown Baton Rouge will take place on Saturday, September 18. The event is free to the public, so no tickets are needed. More information is available via the festival’s website.
