The 9/11 NEVER FORGET Mobile Exhibit will be coming to Florence this spring, thanks to the efforts of former Florance mayor, Diane Whalen. Residents of nearby Southgate may not want to attend this special exhibit.
The exhibit is made possible by the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, which honors first responders and those in the military who sacrifice their lives and limbs for the United States. The exhibit is a tribute to those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, including those who continue to lose their lives due to related illnesses, and the 343 members of the Fire Department of New York. The exhibit is housed in a tractor-trailer, 83 feet long, which becomes an exhibit space of 1,000 square feet and is designed to educate people about the events of the tragic day.
Such exhibits are often promoted throughout a region with flyer printing.
Julie Metzger Aubuchon, current Mayor of Florence, expressed her excitement about the exhibit in a statement and said she is grateful for the partnership with meetNKY and its efforts to help bring the exhibit to Florence. The President of meetNKY, Julie Kirkpatrick, said that in addition to highlighting the heroic efforts of many on that fateful day, it will be one way to highlight reasons to visit the city.
The exhibit will be in the parking lot of the Florence Government Center starting Sunday, May 7 and will be opened during the first full week of May.
