Northern Kentucky partnership to offer college credit

Those who have attended the Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs (GSE), in its partnership with host school Northern Kentucky University (NKU) in Highland Heights, and have a certificate of completion will now be able to receive three hours of college credit for the equivalent course at NKU.

The GSE summer program, which lasts three weeks, is likely to attract students from Southgate who will now be able to receive college credit for a 300-level entrepreneurship course if they major or minor in entrepreneurship at NKU. Credits from the course will go towards completion of their degree. Brochure printing is often used to provide more details about such programs and how to apply for them.

Governor Andy Beshear expressed his excitement about this partnership growing between NKU and GSE so that college credit can be given to students for a summer course. Lieutenant Governor Jacqueline Coleman added that the GSE is an important beginning for these students looking to explore this type of coursework.

Partnerships with many private and public supporters such as the Marksbury Family Foundation, the Cabinet for Economic Development, the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet, and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky enable the GSE program to be offered at no charge. Those who attend this program have access to over $5m in funding for scholarships to attend universities and colleges in the state, as well as a network of entrepreneurial support throughout Kentucky.
