New cargo facility to come to Southgate area

Burrell Aviation Cincinnati, LLC and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) will be partnering to build an air cargo warehouse facility at the airport.

A minimum capital investment of $20m is being made by the two organizations, which should help the economic development of nearby Southgate.

Old cargo facilities have been demolished by the airport to enable new infrastructure to be built for freight forwarders and cargo carriers, allowing products to be moved more efficiently. The new warehouse will be built on 4.5 acres of land at the airport and will span 80,000 square feet. It will house truck docks and office space and will have a parking lot in the north part of the airport campus. Banner printing is often used at such sites to inform those in the region of upcoming developments.

Dan Burrell, founder and chief executive officer of The Burrel Group, expressed his appreciation of having the opportunity to help with an important expansion of the current cargo operations on the CVG campus, and at being part of such a significant project at the airport. Burrell Aviation invests in, develops, and operates infrastructure that supports the non-passenger aviation industry.

CEO of CVG, Candace McGraw, expressed her pleasure in partnering with Burrell Aviation on this flagship facility. McGraw added that this will be the beginning of additional growth in cargo at the airport.
