Kroger expands Ohio and northern Kentucky services

Retail giant Kroger recently announced that it will be adding a delivery service to its stores in the Dayton, Ohio and Cincinnati areas, which may include nearby Southgate and other parts of northern Kentucky.

Instacart, a national delivery service, will be partnering with Kroger in this effort.

Kroger has an app that can be used on a laptop, desktop, or phone, said Erin Rolfes from the company. She added that it is very easy to use; once in the app, people go to the delivery tab, select the items they want for their cart, sign for the items, and then they are delivered directly to people’s homes.

The cost is $11.95 for the delivery service and personal shopper, which is higher than its competitors. Walmart charges $9.95, Meijer charges $7.00, and Whole Foods has no charge, although most of its prices are higher than those of Kroger. Also, Meijer has a 10% per item surcharge, which Kroger does not have.

Scott Holloway from Instacart said that people’s food bills may actually go down when buying their groceries online as they tend to buy less and do not have the distraction of impulse items at the checkout or end of the aisles.

Flyer printing can be used to publicize such new services and their advantages for a range of customers.
