Funding awarded in Kentucky for study abroad programs

Northern Kentucky University (NKU) has been awarded a grant of $35,000 from the United States Department of State as part of the program for Diversify Education Abroad for US Students (IDEAS). Students attending the university who are residents of Southgate may benefit from such programs.

The goal of this funding is to develop study abroad programs across an institution in support of the foreign policy goals of the United States. NKU will now be able to provide programs to study abroad that will help leaders of the future develop relevant job skills and build important cross-cultural relationships.

NKU will also use the funding to further develop and implement its African Business Collaborative program. This is an initiative that provides students with accessible and affordable global learning experiences through in person and virtual collaboration with Academic City University in Ghana. It will also help businesses in the tri-state area to gain insights into how they can expand in the African market.

More details and information about the features and benefits of such programs is often offered through brochure printing.

Dr. Dekuwmini Mornah, Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship, said that the African Business Collaborative will enable students to develop communication skills of a cross-cultural nature and consulting experience in the real world while working on projects for the businesses participating in the program.
