Food lovers to enjoy a taste of the Midwest

Foodies in Southgate and surrounding regions can sample culinary creations with a Midwestern flair at the 2014 Cincinnati Food and Wine Classic coming up later this month.

Along with tastings, there will be demonstrations, workshops, and after-hours parties. During the ‘Pork Chopped’ challenge, chefs will compete to make the top pork dish. Later, beer enthusiasts can enjoy a brewing discussion with several “beer historians”. Demonstrations focusing on pies, vegetarian food, steaks, goettas (German sausages), and sauces will also be in the weekend lineup.

At night, guests can choose to attend an after-hours party. Two examples of the themed late night soirees include ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘Cocktails and a View.’

To attend, guests must be 21 or older. Each event has a separate ticket price that can be purchased on the Cincinnati Food and Wine Classic website. For $390, individuals can purchase a VIP pass that gives them access to two nights of tastings plus perks like priority seating.

Event organizers may have used a postcard printing service to create a direct mailer to send to the local community. This is an inexpensive way to promote an event.

The tasting festivities will begin on September 12 in the evening. Depending on the tickets purchased, the experience could continue late into the night. Demonstrations continue on September 13 at 10:00 am and after-hours parties begin at 10:30 pm. The event will take place in Washington Park and surrounding areas in Cincinnati.
