College in Southgate area opens innovation lab

A new innovation lab is being launched by Northern Kentucky University (NKU) in partnership with Duke Energy. Such labs are often of great benefit to entrepreneurs in the Southgate area and beyond.

The innovation lab is a dynamic space that can be both a center for innovation and experimentation as well as a multi-use showcase. The latest on the Internet of Things (IoT) will be the feature of the lab with a focus on green energy.

Local Print shops can help spread the news about such labs throughout a city and surrounding communities with Flyers, Posters, and other printed materials.

The lab is part of the NKU College of Informatics and is in Griffin Hall. It will be a place for teaching and learning, a workshop for student projects for Duke Energy, and a destination for students in grades kindergarten through 12 who are looking for hands-on experiences with leading edge technology and challenges in the real world.

Dr. Cady Short-Thompson, president of NKU, expressed her pride in having the generous support of Duke Energy to make this space a reality. Short-Thompson said that the lab will foster collaboration, creativity, and technological advancement for students as well as enable the university to become a focal point for innovation.

President of Duke Energy Ohio/Kentucky, Amy Spiller, expressed her gratitude for the partnership with NKU which is educating those who will make a different in the region and elsewhere.
