Cincinnati to invest in new soccer stadium

A stadium infrastructure package for FC Cincinnati has recently been approved by the Cincinnati City Council. Once this $200m soccer facility is built in the West End, those from nearby Southgate will most likely want to cross the river to watch the games.

The city will fund $34.8m of the cost. The money will come from reserve funds of the city, an annual payment from tax funds from taxes collected by hotels, money from the capital budget for 2019, and money from the Downtown and Over-the-Rhine tax increment finance district.

One member of the Council supporting the stadium commented that this deal could provide a better future for the area, which has historically been a low-income neighborhood.

A community advisory council has been created that will oversee the construction of the 21,000-seat soccer stadium. The advisory council will have a voice in the design of the new stadium. The team itself has also agreed to invest in organizations in the West End and provide a scholarship program for local high school students, find a developer to build affordable housing, create a youth soccer program and athletic association, and help the area in many other endeavors.

Flyer printing companies can be used to publicize such information and the many benefits for the community, and give timescales for their completion.
