An advanced directive can give people peace of mind that their wishes will be followed should they not be able to speak for themselves, and a workshop on offer for London residents will help them get started.
The Kentucky branch of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) will be offering a virtual information session that will explore advanced directives from the bottom up. Pre-registration for the activity is required, although it is free to participate.
Representatives of Bluegrass Care Navigators and AARP will facilitate the discussion, and they will speak on topics such as the various types of directives and living wills, and how they can be used. The participants will discover ways they can choose the style that best suits their needs, and also why it is important to consult their attorney as part of the process.
Since starting a discussion about these sorts of documents may not always be easy, the workshop will include tips for getting the conversation off the ground. Information kits will help those who participate in this sort of activity to learn even more, and these can be prepped for the occasion by an area printing services company.
This AARP Advance Directive Workshop is scheduled to be presented on November 17, and it will begin at 10:30 am. As it will be on offer online, people from all across Kentucky are welcome to take part.
