London families have been asked to pay it forward by being part of an event that will help those in need in the city.
The God's Pantry Food Bank Southeast Regional Distribution Center will be paid a visit by the Thanksgiving Basket Brigade, which will be preparing 1,000 food hampers filled with a seasonal feast. These will then be shared with Southeast Kentucky’s people struggling with poverty.
As many hands can make light work of a task, the organizers of this food box prep party are hoping for a healthy turnout of volunteer helpers. Each participant must be at least 13 years of age, and to thank them for their efforts, they will each receive a “Basket Brigade” T-shirt printed with a special graphic design. There will be two sessions held, and registrations will be accepted for each until they are filled.
The project will be taking place at 1215 E. 4th Street. Anyone who has questions or needs more information about the activity has been asked to call 859-228-5332. They can also contact the organizers at jcurry@godspantry.org.
This chance for London residents to share their good fortune with others all across Southeastern Kentucky will be on offer on November 14. The planners noted that they wish to thank everyone in advance for making the event a big success.
