London schedules dates for winter quilting camp

London residents who have always wanted to give quilting a try will soon be able to do so, thanks to a local workshop series.

The Laurel County Extension Office offers continuing education and other learning opportunities all year long, and it will be wrapping up 2024 with its Silver Threads Quilt Camp. There are six sessions planned, and once they have completed their registration, participants will receive details for the fabric requirements and all the cutting instructions.

The sessions will each take place in person at the Laurel County Cooperative Extension Office at 200 County Extension Road. Quilters who take on the project will be creating an Expanding Star Pattern, and all skill levels are welcome. The facilitators will teach a variety of stitches and other techniques, and tips will be provided for choosing the best fabric for the activity. Cutting and piecing will also be covered.

Learning a new pastime or hobby may be an enjoyable experience, especially when it is done along with a group of others. A flyer printing company can work with event organizers to make sure they have effective marketing materials that are also budget friendly.

The Silver Threads Quilt camp begins at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 26. The registration fee is $50 per participant, and the organizers can be contacted at robin.davis@uky.edu.
