Cooking and eating together gives families a chance to learn about healthy eating while they socialize and have fun, and the Laurel County Extension Service has a program in the works that will help them to get started.
London families have been offered a chance to be part of the “Holiday Cooking School...in a Box'' initiative, and the kits can be pre-ordered by calling 606-864-4167. There are only a limited number available and it is expected that they will be snapped up quickly.
One of the perks that goes along with ordering one of these Boxes is that each will contain a cook book titled “Cook Together, Eat Together,” and items like these may be obtained from an area printing services provider. These will be full of recipes as well as cookery and nutrition tips, and the one-pot meal section may be especially helpful to families on the go and find they do not have much time for cooking.
Each of these kits is on offer for $20 each, and they will all contain the cookbook as well as a festive ornament, mixes, and an assortment of special treats to enjoy. They must be ordered by no later than November 5, and they will be available for pick up at the Extension Offices on November 12. The organizers can be contacted by phone if there are any questions.
