Organizations that put together events, students can use flyer printing to spread the word. When participating students arrived for the three Prom Prep events, they were treated to free manicures, pedicures, hair styling, and makeup help. They also received goodie Bags and snacks.
The prom preparation program ended with a professional photo shoot so that the girls can remember what they looked like on prom night forever.
Students who attended the events appreciated the program. One student, Sara Allen, who went to the dance at North Laurel High School, said to the Sentinel-Echo:
“I thought it was really cool that so many people came together to help us get ready…instead of having to do it myself at home.”
Elizabeth Freeman, whose daughter attended one of the events, stated that it helped to make senior year memorable.
About 90 volunteers turned up on three weekends to help more than 50 students from eight schools prepare for their proms.
