London plans summer toy drive

While the winter holiday season may be far in the future, a London event will get the celebration started early when it hosts a toy drive for area kids.

The Toys for Tots initiative will be the beneficiary of the 3rd annual Christmas in June activity, which will be marking its 3rd year. The activity is being organized by Wildcat Harley-Davidson.

The day will open with free donuts and coffee, and everyone is asked to bring along an unwrapped toy or other donation. These will be collected and passed along to the Toys for Tots of South Central Kentucky and the Joe C Paul Marine Corp League.

At noon, kickstands will go up for a ride along Appalachian Gateway 80. A suggested donation of $20.00 per bike is recommended, and the group will head back to Wildcat Harley-Davidson for even more fun once they have completed the route.

Many people like to help their neighbors in need, and taking part in a fundraiser can be a fun way to do so. Promotional Products may be distributed to those who take part to thank them for their generosity of spirit.

This opportunity to show early festive spirit will be kicking off at 9:00 am on Saturday, June 1. It is being hosted thanks to the Whitley County Motorcycle Group Backroads of Appalachia.
