Residents of London are welcome to join other paddlers for an overnight excursion along the Cumberland River this summer.
The planners of the ‘Cumberland River Canoeing Adventure’ have put together an outing package that will include both hiking, canoeing, and an overnight camp out. The route will be 17 miles long, and at night, the group will camp by the river.
The first day will see the attendees paddle 10 miles along the Cumberland, and they will then set up camp for the night. During the afternoon, they can explore the woods, and then it will be time for dinner. Once the sun goes down, the group will be invited to gather by the bonfire for s’mores, storytelling and singing, and after breakfast the next morning, the canoes will go back into the water to complete the journey to Cumberland Falls State Resort Park.
Tickets to be a part of this excursion can be purchased for $215 each. Providing each person who registers for this type of function with a printed list of what they will need to bring, as well as the rules and policies that will be followed during the outing, can help to make sure it will be fun for all, and these can be created by area Print shops.
The paddlers will be setting out from the Sheltowee Trace Adventure Resort in Corbin on July 27. Additional information can be obtained by contacting the organizers directly.
