West Sixth NuLu is organizing the first edition of an annual beer- and food-tasting event known as Local Mash to celebrate its second year of operations.
This week, West Sixth will be hosting seven locally based chefs who have been a part of the West Sixth Story. These chefs will create small plates of food that were selected because they will go well with selected brews from West Sixth. The chefs will be coming from local eateries such as Bar Vetti, Meesh Meesh, and others. Poster printing could be used to indicate what styles of food chefs prepare.
Each attendee will get one plate of food from the chef, a six-ounce beer that is specific to each plate, and a novelty tasting glass that can be taken home. The event wants to highlight that beer and food pairings can be harmonious in the same way as people might think of wine and food.
The event is running on a passport-style setup. Guests will be given a menu passport when they arrive and check in, and then they visit the chefs as they prepare the food at their stations. The guests can go to any chef they wish and get their novelty glasses filled with the chef’s choice of brew to complement the meal. After that, they are free to mingle with other guests while enjoying the fine dining experience.
Local Mash will be held at West Sixth Brewing in Lexington on Thursday, November 3. Tickets are selling at $70 per person.
