The Lexington Children’s Theater, one of the oldest operating theaters in the United States, has plenty to attract locals over winter and early spring.
The Long Road to Freedom will be shown on February 1 at 7:00 pm, and February 2 at 2:00 pm, and special school matinees will be shown on February 4 – 7 at 10:00 am and 11:45 am. It is suited to grades 4-12.
Performed on the main stage, the play is about two women that met through the Underground Railroad and their courage helping others to become free.
The Cat in the Hat will have public performances on February 23 at 2:00 pm, February 29 at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm, March 1 at 2:00 pm and March 7 at 7:00 pm. School performances will be February 25 to 28, March 3 to 6, and March 9 to 10 at 10:00 am and 11:45 am. It will be performed on the main stage, and is suitable for all ages.
Based on the Dr. Seuss book, the Cat in the Hat is about the adventure of two children left alone on a rainy day. The feline visits them with Thing 1 and Thing 2 creating havoc in their home. Printers often design and provide poster printing for theaters like this.
