Greyline Station will reopen in late fall as a marketplace with a variety of vendors.
Kris Nonn, Executive Director of North Limestone Community Development Corporation, says the team is excited to see the inside developing into a market that will benefit the community.
The 92-year-old Lexington building will be a public market that will be open all year round. It will have shops, resources, and a stage for performances.
The indoor market will be called Julietta Market after civil rights activist Julia Etta Lewis. The market will have 72 vendor spaces to rent, and this can be done on a monthly basis.
A low-cost option to market a business idea locally, organizers will encourage underrepresented groups like women and minorities to rent the spaces for their business. When all the community is represented and everyone can be a part of it, this is when growth really takes off, says Lennia Haywood, Marketing Manager of the market. Haywood adds that this will offer many businesses a way to start over if recent events have forced them to close.
Some of the confirmed businesses are North Lime Coffee and Donuts, North Lime Bar, Wilsons Market, Laura Clay’s Patisserie, Black Soil, and The KoKo Shop. Printers design Brochures and provide brochure printing for business like this.
The Julietta Market will open on November 1. It is located at 714 North Limestone Street.
