Lexington to welcome music icon

The Rupp Arena in Lexington will host a performance of Elton John this April.

This performance will be a part of John's Farewell Yellow Brick Road. It will also replace the cancelled June 5, 2020 concert.

As one of the highest-selling music artists of all time, Elton John has sold over 300 million records. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with some of the most talented artists, including Ed Sheeran, John Lennon, and George Michael.

The awards he has won are numerous, and include two Academy Awards, five Brit Awards, five Grammy Awards, and many more. He has also been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as well as the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Since its beginning in September 2018, the Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour has received copious amounts of praise. Each show promises the audience a closer look at all of the artist's greatest hits. The performances of these will be accompanied by photos and videos never seen before these shows.

The Lexington show will take place on Saturday, April 9 at 8:00 pm. The Rupp Arena is located at 430 W Vine St. Tickets can be purchased on the Central Bank Center website.
