Kentucky Humanities is presenting a conversation between Kris Kimel and Astronaut Story Musgrave.
This event is in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Kentucky Humanities. The organization is collaborating with Space Tango and the University of Kentucky’s Cooperative for the Humanities and Sciences. Kris Kimel is the co-creator of Space Tango while Story Musgrave is a space pioneer. The two of them will be discussing Dr. Musgrave’s accomplished career and what the space program is expected to achieve over the coming years.
Dr. Story Musgrave is a physician and former NASA astronaut. He is also an author and public speaker who has consulted for Applied Minds in California and the Imagineering group at Disney. In 1996, Musgrave became the second astronaut to have gone on six different spaceflights for a combined space mission time of 1,281 hours, 59 minutes, and 22 seconds. He is also the most-educated astronaut with six academic degrees under his belt.
Kris Kimel is one of the minds behind Space Tango. He used to be the president of the Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation and founded the IdeaFestival which is an event that promotes science, technology, and disruptive ideas in numerous disciplines such as design and the humanities. Banner printing can be used to share information about guest speakers at events.
The conversation will be live from the University of Kentucky’s Gatton Student Center in Lexington on October 13th in Lexington.
