The City of Hebron has numerous events scheduled to celebrate the nation’s birthday.
The theme of this year’s event is “Pride in Our Past, Faith in Our Future,” which kicks off with a fireworks display at dusk on July 3.
The 4th of July itself starts with a Pancake Breakfast at the Hebron United Methodist Church, from 7.00 am until 9.00 am. The breakfast is free.
Next up is the Fireworks 5K Fun Run, which begins at 7.45 am. The course begins and ends at Hebron Middle School, 307 South Main Street. Registration takes place from 6.45 am until 7.30 am for those signing up on race day. Fees for the race are $30, which includes a T-shirt as long as supplies last. All participants ten and younger will receive a medal.
The 4th of July parade begins at 10.00 am on Main Street, and the flag raising will take place at the American Legion Memorial immediately after the parade.
The fun wins up with the Turtle Derby at noon. Everyone is welcome to bring a turtle to take part (no snapping turtles), and the entry fee is $1 per race. Free hot dogs will be available while they last, Salon 618 will be operating a Braid & Tinsel Bar, with all proceeds going to The Harbor NWI, and Roeske Meats will have grill-ready favorites for sale. When they plan events like this, organizers can use banner printing to create suitable decorations.
