An upcoming event in Hebron is named after the legendary creature Bigfoot, but there is no word on whether he will take part.
The Bigfoot Trail Half is a half-marathon that will take place in Stoney Run County Park. In order to complete the distance, runners will need to make two loops around the park. Race organizers will place two aid stations on the course, one at the start/finish area, and the second at approximately the 3.5-mile mark. The mid-course station will not be manned.
All runners are eligible to receive a one-size-fits all gloves and hat, as well as a Bigfoot Trucker Hat. All finishers will receive a handcrafted wooden medal. After they complete the race, all runners will be given a raffle ticket, and will be able to pick up their prize immediately if they are a winner.
The trail winds through the park and is described as flat, which will make for a fast-paced race. Trail running is different from running on a track or street, as the route can present obstacles like tree roots and fallen limbs. Runners need to be aware of their path to avoid accidents.
The Bigfoot Half Trail run is scheduled for November 15th at 8.00 am. The park is located at 9230 East 142nd Avenue. When they plan outdoor events like this, organizers could work with banner printing to create course markers that can withstand all kinds of weather.
