Bigfoot stomps into Hebron

An upcoming race in Hebron will provide runners with a substantial challenge.

The Bigfoot Trail Half is a half-marathon that is part of the Crazy Legs Race Series. The course leads over single-track dirty trails, gravel road, pavement, and fields of grass. It will take two loops of the park to cover the distance. UCANN gels, granola bars, Gatorade, and water will be available at the main aid station, which is at the start/finish line. Gatorade and water will be at an unmanned station at the 3.5-mile marker.

Organizers advise anyone who needs special food or drink to bring it with them, and note that the course will be marked, and runners should follow the arrows and flags, not other runners. In addition, raffle tickets will be distributed at packet pickup, and the drawing will be held during the race. Runners should check after they finish to see if they have won.

Crazy Legs Race Series items from previous contests will be for sale for $5; the money goes to support the park. In addition, Bigfoot hats in various styles will be available, and anyone who wants one should choose it when they arrive at the venue.

The race is set for November 14 at 8.00 am at Stoney Run County Park. The flags and arrows organizers use to mark courses for events like this can be created using banner printing sturdy enough to use outdoors.
