The Military Miniature Society of Illinois (MMSI) will be holding its annual show in Chicago later this month.
Residents of nearby Oakbrook Terrace who are interested in the sculpting, painting, and collecting of toy soldiers and military miniatures will not want to miss this show. Local Print shops often assist in disseminating information about such exhibits throughout an area with Flyers and other printed materials.
This is a juried exhibition that will have an extensive display of miniature sculptures, an auction, a vendor area, and educational sessions featuring the work of modelers from around the world. Subjects of the piece range from fantasy and historical topics of figures, armored and non-armored vehicles, ships, airplanes, and dioramas. Paints, model kits, Books, and tools focusing on the hobby will be for sale at the vendor area. Educational sessions will focus on artist preservation, painting faces with acrylics, and creating wool texture.
Judging of the displays will begin on Friday with an awards presentation on Saturday in the main exhibit space, flowed by a club show dinner.
This show will take place this Friday, October 21, from 3:00 to 8:00 pm, and on Saturday, October 22 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Chicago Marriott Schaumburg in Schaumburg. The price for admission is $10 per person, with no charge for children under the age of 12 or active military with proper identification.
