The next two performance at the Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook Terrace will be special musical presentations.
Coming up next month will be Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn. This is based on the film from Universal Pictures with music and lyrics by Berlin, and tells the story of a retired song and dance man who is looking to bring entertainment to his small town in Connecticut. A talented schoolteacher helps him in his efforts as he transforms his farmhouse into an inn and hosts special shows each holiday.
This is a friendly and happy family musical featuring comedy, a range of dance numbers, and many of the hit songs written by Berlin. It will run from Friday, November 19 through Sunday January 9, 2022.
Following that will be Evita with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. Evita is the story of the life of Eva Perón as she grew from a poor child in the provinces to the First Lady of Argentina. She is known for her use of her politics and popularity to serve her people.
This musical has won seven Tony Awards, including best original score and best musical, and will be on stage from Friday, January 28 through Sunday, March 20, 2022.
