McDonald’s, headquartered in Oakbrook just a short distance from Oakbrook Terrace, recently announced a partnership with UberEATS to deliver its Signature Sandwiches, fries, and other menu items to the home or office.
Named McDelivery, the service is being offered at over 1,000 restaurants in Columbus, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
Steve Easterbrook, CEO of McDonald’s, said that the UberEATS app enables customers to enjoy their favorite foods from the restaurant not only delivered to them, but also offering greater customization and personalization of their choices.
The head of UberEverthing, Jason Droege, added that Uber is very excited about this partnership with McDonald’s so that the technology thst Uber affords its customers can also be used to deliver the favorite menu items of customers.
A pilot program for McDelivery was carried out in January in Miami, Tampa Bay, and Orlando and was wildly acclaimed so the company decided to make service a reality. Now, in the Chicago area alone there will 267 restaurants offering McDelivery, as well as 300 in Los Angeles, 114 in Phoenix, and in 59 in Colombus. The company has plans to expand the service in more cities throughout the United States in the upcoming months.
