GW Properties of Chicago is planning a new development for the site at the Macy’s Furniture Gallery in Oak Brook. Residents of Oakbrook Terrace will want to see what this new development has to offer once the development is opened.
Macy’s will be closing the store at the end of this month and will move the furniture into its department store in Oakbrook Center. GW Properties will then demolish the store and construct seven new buildings in which there will primarily be restaurants, as well as some retail space.
Banner printing is often used at such sites to inform the community of such upcoming developments.
Principal at GW Properties, Mitch Goltz, said there will be four restaurants in the new development. Panera Bread will move from its current location in Oak Brook and create a new shop with a drive thru. Wildberry Pancakes and Cafe, which has four other restaurants in the area, will serve breakfast items, salads, wraps, and sandwiches. Urban Plates, with locations in Washington, D.C. and California, will offer affordable meals made from scratch and seasonal meals. Lazy Dog Restaurant and Brewery, based in California, offers a casual dining menu and atmosphere.
There will be another building for four different businesses, along with a sushi restaurant and a two-story entertainment/restaurant business.
Construction is expected to begin early next year.
