Hyundai relocates regional office to Oakbrook Terrace

The Central Regional Offices of Hyundai Motor America have recently moved to Oakbrook Terrace into TransAm Plaza Two, which is managed by Cushman & Wakefield.

The offices now occupy just over 18,000 square feet on the top floor of the building, which is five stories in height.

This move by Hyundai is about halfway to Chicago from its former facility, and now places it next to the Chicago Automobile Trade Association. A total of 75 employees for dealer-related services and administration have been relocated to these new offices. A Stationery printing company will most likely be hired by Hyundai Motor America to Print material to reflect the new address.

Hyundai Motor America executed the lease earlier this year from American Landmark Properties, the owner of the building, for a price of $4m. The facility will require some renovation and construction, which Executive Construction, Inc. will provide and EWP Architects will design.

The regional office has a parts warehouse building in Aurora that is about 350,000 square feet in size. It recently sold this property to Cabot Partners, based in Boston, in a separate sale-leaseback transaction, so that its parts distribution subsidiary, Mobis, and its service training center can remain in Aurora.

The regional office serves 13 states in the Midwestern region of the United States, and over 250 dealerships within that area.
