Ferrara Candy Co., a confectionary company with its headquarters in Oakbrook Terrace, recently announced plans to increase the capacity and capabilities of its manufacturing operations in Bellwood, Illinois, and to open a new Packaging center in Bolingbrook, Illinois.
This growth in the Chicago region is a result of a commitment by Walmart to purchase an additional $250bn in products.
This is a new partnership for the company that will enable it to make even more types of American candies. This new products should be available in Walmart stores this summer.
According to CEO of Ferrara Candy Co., Todd Siwak, this collaboration will enable Ferrara to optimize its manufacturing network and capabilities. It will also help to create jobs in the hometown region of the company and put more products made in the United States on store shelves.
It may also fuel the business of local Print companies as they increase their capacities as well to keep up with the printing of Business Cards that will be required by the new employees. More than 100 jobs are expected to be created in the Chicago metropolitan area over the next year, and a half by the manufacturing enhancements of state-of-the-art technology and an extensive infrastructure build out.
