Oakbrook Terrace will soon be the home for the headquarters and research and development operations of Sara Lee Frozen Bakery.
By having the corporate headquarters in the same facility as the research and development operations, Sara Lee hopes to enable greater collaboration and facilitate innovation. As part of the research and development center, there will also be a test kitchen and a pilot plant.
It is anticipated by the new headquarters will create 1,300 jobs in the area and this will include 80 senior level marketing professionals. Business card printing is often used by such senior level executives in their daily activities and meetings with other companies and organizations.
Craig Bahner will be the new CEO of the headquarters. He has worked with several large-scale and well-known businesses, including Procter & Gamble and Wendy’s.
Bahner commented that having a standalone company just for the frozen bakery products will enable the company to focus on this specific business. He notes that it will also allow it to continue to deliver high-quality products yet also increase innovation, accelerate growth, and achieve excellence in its overall operations.
Frozen cakes, pies, and other desserts are some of the products of Sara Lee Bakery. The brands of Bistro Collection, Van’s, and Chef Pierre are also operated by the company, which was originally founded in Illinois in 1939.
