The Midwest Architecture Conference will be coming to Oakbrook Terrace later next month.
Hosted by the Association of Licensed Architects, the one-day conference will offer the latest technical and business education for architects and other building professionals.
The conference will open at 8:00 am with a keynote address by Blair Payson, AIA, and Principal at Olson Kundig, in Seattle, Washington, who will speak about how cross disciplinary experiments and culture inform design. There will be over 17 seminars on such topics as fire codes, sustainable materials, building strategies, and business practice and contracts.
Attendees will also be able to visit the exhibition space where new products and technologies will be on display. There will be varying networking opportunities throughout the day during which Business Cards can be exchanged. The fee for the one-day conference includes a light breakfast, a buffet lunch, the keynote address and seminars, and the exhibition space.
Attendees can also earn one Continuing Education Unit for each seminar they attend and an additional one credit for engaging with the exhibitors for one hour.
Last year’s conference attracted over 300 architects and building professionals, and was highly rated by exhibitors and attendees.
The conference will take place on Tuesday, October 29 from 7:00 am to 4:45 pm at the Drury Lane Conference Center, with the exhibition space open from 10:00 am to 3:45 pm.
