The Viking Girl Power 2020 fundraiser is scheduled and ready to go.
This year’s guest speaker will be Bridget Venture Veenema who is a World Cup Champion, a coach and the first woman to have a seat on USA Baseball’s board of directors. She is also the first person to win the American Gladiators Grand Championship.
This event is open to people of all ages. The guests will be separated according to their ages and will move around in small groups, which will be taking turns on the interactive activities planned for the day. The topics for the activities include learning how to meditate, self-defense basics, dancing, guides on how to prevent and deal with bullying, team-building exercises, the power of taking risks, self-love, setting personal goals, and community building.
The proceeds from this event will be given to the Athlete Assistance Fund. This fund was set up to provide financial assistance to gymnasts and other athletes who have suffered abuse and require counseling services in Morton Grove. Everybody who participates will be given a Girl Power T-Shirt and souvenir pamphlet. Other Promotional Products may be on offer as well.
Each participant will pay $45 for admission and each additional family member will pay $25. The deadline for registering is February 1. The actual event will be held on February 22 and it starts at 1:00 pm at Viking Gymnastics & Dance at 7779 North Caldwell Avenue, Niles.
