The Park Ridge Park District is hosting a couple of festivities on the same day that help to celebrate everything winter has to offer.
First up is ‘Frostival’, taking place at the Oakton Sports Complex, which promises a wealth of outdoor games. There will be snow golf, sledding, and a snowman contest, along with craft and cookie decorating stations for the kids. Hot chocolate and snacks will be available for purchase, and some of the activities may charge a nominal fee. Last year's event also included ice sculptors and dogsled demonstrations.
Later on the same day, the Oakton Ice Arena is hosting the Pajama Party Public Skate. This is an early Valentine's Day celebration for couples and the skating will be accompanied by love songs. Those who show up in their favorite pair of pajamas will pay half-priced admission to the arena.
People from nearby communities like Morton Grove may also want to attend these events, and local poster printing companies may help to advertise in the region.
