A newly constructed facility for the manufacture of pharmaceuticals has opened its doors in Morton Grove.
Regis Technologies recently began operations at its Potent Compound Suite (PCS). The facility uses a variety of technologies to produce customized active pharmaceutical ingredients that are highly potent. It also has a team of employees who are well trained in using the equipment, which produces small molecule cGMP medications in quantities of up to one kilogram in each batch.
Company officials noted that the new cGMP products will find a use in the field of oncology and the treatment of other diseases, and that the new facility can also be used to help train its employees, allowing them to further develop their careers. According to a company representative, the treatment of cancer is a growing market and this will allow them to remain competitive with others who are engaged in the same field. A business card printing firm will be able to create new digital cards for the management and staff at this new manufacturing center.
The construction of the suite was overseen by Dragan Ristic, who is the company’s Manger of Process engineering, and was designed to prevent any contamination of products. It includes laminar flow hoods, isolators, and also a local exhaust ventilation system suitable for use when handling the type of products Regis creates.
